At 27 mos, Ben knows his colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black). At 29 mos, he can count to 5 if he tries really hard. Starting around 27 mos he started peeing in the potty- hasn't gotten the pooping down yet. Knows a ton of animals and their sounds and is making sentences- mostly two words but sometimes three. Has a current love of ghosts, and loves saying the word ghost with mommy. Today Daddy made him a ghost out of a sheet. Loves the dirt and digging and trucks. Loved the sand at the beach- would giggle down the boardwalk and then throw himself face down into the sand. Says so many cute things now. If he wants you to do something he'll pull on you and say "mom, walk" etc. He "jumps" to catch clouds, which is really just one foot up about 2 inches and then the other, but it's cute. Likes putting his arms out and "flying" like a "plane". We try to spend 3-4 hours outside everyday. Moves his trucks backwards saying " beet beet beet"- picked up from the trash truck  outside. Will stand at the top of the stairs and call Daddy up to read- "Daaa-eeee". It's REALLY sweet and cute. When we say I love you and goodnight he says "BYE!"

Ben's current thing is when he is crying, he'll stop and point to his tears and say "I cry?" and I'll say, "yes" and then he'll say "I sad". It's heartbreaking :)

Also, I think he thinks he is french as he places a le before almost everything- le poop, le bus etc.

Has begun using the "big" toilet for peeing now and loves going on the big toilet. After three weeks in the potty is still saying "I did it!" and clapping his hands.

LOVES LOVES LOVES to dig in the dirt. Would be happy if he could spend all time doing this.

Getting ready for a beach trip- hopefully he'll get a kick out of that.

Yesterday Ben and I were sitting on the couch reading when Dad went to leave for work. He said by to Ben from the door and Ben said, "Dad, work?" and we said yes. Then he said "I cry". Heartbreaking (he cried when Dave's car left the driveway, but only for a minute). He seems to have a good idea of what Dad work means.
